Being A Tall Girl

I am 174 cm tall. It is quite tall in Hong Kong. If you have the same height like me, you will often hear something like "You can be a model (or flight attendant)!" And I remember when I was small, one of my classmates told me that, "It would be difficult for you to find a boyfriend." 

So, today let me tell you the pros and cons of being a tall girl. 

Pros of being a tall girl:

1. You can help people to get something which places in a higher position. My mom would ask me to help her get the canned food which places in a higher position in the cabinet. Also, she would ask me to close the upper window when open the air-condition. 

2. People can find you easily because you are tall. Sometimes, when we do some shopping, my mom will ask me to find my dad since she cannot see him. So my height can help solve this problem. And usually I spot my dad right away.

3. I know tall or short girls may need to face the problem of shortening pants. But for me, I do not need to, so I consider this is an advantage of being tall. When I buy clothing especially jeans, I do not need to shorten and just buy the clothing I like.

Cons of being a tall girl:

1. You will easily get hit by something when taking transportation. For example, you will get hit by the armrest when taking MTR. When I enter into the train, I often get hit by the armrest. It hurts my head. Also, you will easily get hit by the seat in front of you when taking bus or plane. When I take the bus, I usually would sit in the place where there is an empty opposite seat in front me. My legs would feel more comfortable. When I take economic class when traveling, I do not like people who adjust and lean back his or her chair because my legs do not have much space to place. So, it would be troublesome if you do so. 

2. It is quite difficult to find a 'taller' boyfriend in Hong Kong. Most of my friends, both male and female, are shorter than me (or same height). When I go out with male friends, it is quite weird because I look at him at the same height level or sometimes lower. And I see some onlookers will gaze at us which makes me feel uncomfortable.
