Look Like A Girl

"CAN YOU LOOK LIKE A GIRL?"

I always hear of this saying from my dad and my male friends.



Since I was born, I got short hair.

I got long hair once when I was form 1 to form 3 because my ballet teacher requested me to do so.

I got back short hair after that.



I don't really understand why male friends think girls should have long hair.

They said having long hair for girls is a feminine thing to do.

They can touch that smooth long hair and think it is very sexy.

For me, I think it is very troublesome having long hair.

I need to think of what I need to do with my hair. 

When I got long hair, it always takes me at least 30 minutes to make my hair prettier.

And I don't like the feeling after tightening my hair with hair tie.

I am a quite sensitive person, so I would feel headache after tightening.

When I sat and wanted to lean back, my ponytail became an obstacle. And it felt very bad.

Now, my male friend wants me to have long hair.

I struggle because it is quite a big deal for me.

I really hate 'troublesome'.

I really don't like having long hair in hot summer especially in Hong Kong.

So, when I see girls with long hair, I quite admire them since they have that patience to 'suffer' hot weather and uneasiness.



I always have a question on my mind, "CAN'T GIRLS WEAR SHORT HAIR?"

If you think girls must have long hair, to a large extent, you do stereotypes.

Don't do stereotypes by looking at girls' hairstyles. Actually it is weird to do so.



Just want to tell you that I love my short hair.

I AM STILL A FEMALE AFTER CUTTING SHORT HAIR.

AND I LIKE THE WAY I AM.

If I want to do changes on my hairstyle, IT IS MY OWN DECISION.

I AM NOT GOING TO LET OTHERS AFFECTING ME

COZ I AM THE ONE WHO CAN IN CHARGE MYSELF!!!
